Open air stage 2008

There is an abadonded opencast mine in Nagykovácsi, which is looking for a new function. The task was to design an open-air theatre in the canyon. The shape of the buildings are abstracted gravel, made of concrete. A green belt area hugs these gravels, and makes an artifical interior. This green belt works as a glue as it connects the mine wall and the theatre area. The visitors see the green wall first, and the hat of the building. As they walk in the entrance, the interior is revealed step by step. Instead of seats, blankets are used for seating on the grass area around the stage.
